Youth & Family Volunteering

Volunteering as a group or with your family is a great way to give back to the community and have fun.  For groups and families that include members under 16 years old, opportunities are available on delivery weekend only. If your group or family members are all 16 years or older, you may apply for a Workshop Bee or a delivery day shift. Requests for Workshop Bees and delivery day shifts must be submitted separately.

Delivery Day Guides & Greeters
Group Size: 1 to 6

Delivery Day Guides and Greeters must be outgoing and friendly.  All volunteers in this role will be briefed so they have answers for the most commonly asked questions. Volunteers in this role may rotate between the following tasks:

  • Welcoming volunteer drivers and their helpers as they line up outside Santas Depot in anticipation of delivering gifts.  In addition to explaining our new mobile app delivery process, you will be responsible for ensuring the line up stays orderly and safe.  A big part of this role is to remind drivers that they will need to show their valid driver’s licence and insurance to the document verification volunteer before we can assign any gifts to them for delivery.
  • Handing out pens and dispatch forms to drivers.  You will be instructing drivers on how to complete the form.  Should a driver choose to use the mobile app you may need to assist them in downloading it.
  • Collecting pens and ensuring dispatch forms are on clipboards and ready to be handed out.
